Program Description:

JR Academy is designed to follow one year of the Fast Track/Gold Group program. It is a 3-day commitment. It is a group program focusing on the advanced skills of skating for the purpose of advancing to the STAR/Competitive Development/Power programs. This program has a tight tracking system, which will complete the CanSkate program and introduce/transition into the STAR 1-5 and/or Power system. Competitive base coaches and power coaches are monitoring these skaters' so that their advancements are tracked.

This program (previously STAR 4-7) is designed to focus on the Freeskate component and skaters will be advised to skate a minimum of 4-5 times per week year round. Program Description:

Skaters are identified within the CanSkate program by the Technical Director and placed into a group with a Gold Group coach for one complete year (3-4 sessions).  The Gold Group coach will be consistent throughout the year and skaters are encouraged to continue with this coach into the private lesson stage upon completion of the Gold Group program. There is a maximum of 6 skaters in each of the Gold Group program that will take place in every Canskate program.  Skaters and parents will be notified by the Technical Director if their child has shown advanced learning skills and would fit into this program.

Adult CanSkate - Designed for Ages 18+

CanSkate is Skate Canada's flagship learn-to-skate program, designed for beginners of all ages. This program is beneficial to any skater with an interest in ice sports (figure skating, hockey, ringette). Participants earn badges while they learn fundamental skating skills.
